Ukrsotsbank PJSC Becomes National Sponsor

KIEV, Ukraine -- Ukraine has its third national sponsor for UEFA EURO 2012 after top retail and investment banking company Ukrsotsbank – a member of UniCredit – signed up in Kiev.

UEFA today announced Ukrsotsbank PJSC, a member of UniCredit, as the third national sponsor for UEFA EURO 2012 in Ukraine during a ceremony in Kiev.

Ukrsotsbank, one of Ukraine's leading retail and investment banking companies, will notably be in charge of all financial transactions and account handling related to UEFA EURO 2012 in the country.

As the third Ukrainian national sponsor for UEFA EURO 2012, Ukrsotsbank will benefit from a wide range of rights, such as the ability to run ticket promotions for its customers as well as its brand presence in official premises of the final tournament.

Commenting on the announcement, UEFA Events SA chief executive David Taylor said: "We are delighted to welcome Ukrsotsbank as a member of the UEFA EURO 2012 sponsors' family and are looking forward to working with them in the delivery of the tournament."

"UEFA EURO 2012 involves a number of financial transactions, from the payment of suppliers to the handling of ticketing and corporate hospitality sales' accounts and it is therefore extremely important to be able to count on the expertise of Ukrsotsbank in this respect."

Gianni Franco Papa, head of UniCredit's CEE division, added: "Sponsorship of UEFA EURO 2012 marks another significant milestone in UniCredit's commitment to sport."

The UEFA EURO 2012 commercial programme consists of ten sponsors with global rights, as well as four national sponsor slots each for companies in Poland and Ukraine.

National sponsors' rights are limited to the territory of the designated host country.

Leading home improvement retail company Epicenter K and telecommunications giant Ukrtelecom JSC had already signed up as national sponsors in Ukraine.
