Ukraine Has Released A Competitor For iPad

KIEV, Ukraine -- Company PocketBook International, known for a wide range of electronic books, is launching the Android-based - "pill" - PocketBook IQ 701.

This is the first such device manufacturer with a TFT-matrix display. All previous gadgets have a screen-based electronic paper.

Most likely it was due to the changing technology that could significantly reduce the price of the device.

According to the manufacturer, the model will be available in Ukraine for about $252 dollars. A "reading room" is on average $50-$100 dollars more.

IQ 701 runs on the Android 2.0 platform.

Going online provides a built-in Wi-Fi, wich due to the orientation sensor automatically flips the screen.

Basic capacity of the 1600 mAh battery provides stand-alone device for several days. More about PocketBook IQ 701 can be found on the company's official web site.
