Why Ukraine Is Trapped In Endless Conflict

WASHINGTON, DC -- Since 2014, Ukraine has been in a state of crisis. Protests erupted late 2013 which led to the Russian invasion of Crimea a few months later.

Pro-Russian separatists then took control of the city’s of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine. 

Russia moved in and backed the separatists fighting Ukrainian forces for several months.

In February 2015, a ceasefire was signed in the hopes of resolving the conflict.

But 3 years later, the ceasefire is completely ignored and the conflict continues with no end in sight.
