Ukraine Ranks First In World By Number Of Taxes

KIEV, Ukraine -- By results of 2011, Ukraine ranked the world's first by the number of taxes, President of the Ukrainian Analytical Center Oleksandr Okhrimenko has said in his blog.

According to information of the World Bank, by results of 2011, Ukraine ranked the first in the world by the number of taxes.

Not by the amount of taxes, but just by their number.

The World Bank calculated that Ukrainian business in this or that form pays 135 different taxes.

This is an absolute world record.

Romania is the second in this rating.

But it looks weak on our background. It has only 113 taxes.

"Jamaica is on the third position with a result of 72 taxes," Okhrimenko said.

According to him, only three taxes are levied in Hong Kong, four taxes in Georgia, Sweden and Norway, five taxes - in Singapore.

At the same time, only seven taxes are in France.

In Great Britain, the Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Finland - eight taxes.

In the USA there are 11 taxes.

As it has been reported, since January 1, 2012, new Tax Code came into force since January 1, 2012, in Ukraine.
