Cabrisas Meets With The Deputy Prime Minister Of Ukraine

HAVANA, Cuba -- Ricardo Cabrisas, Vice-president of the Cuban Council of Ministers, met on Friday in this capital with Victor Tikhonov, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine.

During the meeting at the headquarters of the Council of Ministers, both sides noted the excellent political relations and reaffirmed the traditional ties of friendship between the two nations, Foreign Ministry sources reported.

In the exchange, Tikhonov and Cabrisas discussed issues on the economic agenda and appreciated the potential that exits in industries such as rail transport, agriculture, tourism and the export of medical products.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of following up and properly managing the implementation of the agreements, which cover areas such as health, culture, commerce, the food industry, iron and steel, aviation, radio and television and computing.

Tijonov, on an official visit to the island since Wednesday, headed his country’s delegation to the Cuba-Ukraine Intergovernmental Meeting that wound up on Friday.

During his stay in Havana, the distinguished visitor met with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, and with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca.
